Background

Cultural and creative products are ‘new business cards’ that inherit the city's historical lineage and carry the city's culture. In order to promote the integration of Zhoushan's diversified cultural heritage and industrial innovation, the ‘Zhoushan Heart - Zhejiang Gift’ National Cultural and Creative Design Competition will be launched soon. The competition will explore and cultivate a series of creative products containing the essence of Zhoushan's culture and market potential, promote creativity through competition, promote tourism through creativity, and inject new vitality and new kinetic energy into promoting the integrated development of culture and tourism.

Contents

1. ‘Zhoushan Mind’ cultural and creative brand image design

Focusing on Zhoushan's cultural, regional and industrial characteristics, upholding inheritance and innovation, tapping into local culture for artistic processing and creative transformation. Integrating popular elements, using new creative technology and new production, the brand image of ‘Zhoushan Ideas’ is designed from multiple angles and fields, which is harmonious in colour, positive and healthy, suitable for extension and production, and has the characteristics of marketability, culture and practicability.

2. Cultural and creative product design based on brand image

Carry out cultural and creative product design based on the ‘Zhoushan Heart’ cultural and creative brand image. Using packaging or products as a carrier, presenting three-dimensional, diversified and innovative ‘Zhoushan Heart’ cultural and creative products. Entries should be at the design and creation stage, and not yet formed into mass-produced physical goods or design proposals, such as design drafts, samples and digital models.

Requirements

1. Participants shall submit design content such as Content 1 and Content 2, of which Content 2 shall include inner packaging, outer packaging and gift box design files, which shall be production files that can be sampled on the ground, and the files shall be marked with detailed dimensions, production process, etc. The packaging shall apply the ‘Zhoushan Heart’ cultural and creative products. The packaging shall apply the brand image of ‘Zhoushan Mind’, and at the same time facilitate mass production and other innovative series design.

2. The competition is divided into four stages: collection of works, preliminary selection, final selection, results display, the preliminary stage requires the submission of at least 6 design drawings (works of photographs or design renderings, PDF, JPG, TIF and other formats, not less than 300dpi resolution size of no more than 30M), including the overall effect, local effects, the appearance of the dimensions of the map, etc., and at the same time, must provide the production of floor proofing and other production documents. All entries must be accompanied by more than 300 words of description of the work, including: the name of the work, the design theme, design concept, symbolism and creativity, material, structure, process size and so on. After receiving the notification, the finalists should further submit their works according to the evaluation needs (for the finalists' works, the organiser can assist the participants to sample their works or the participants can sample their works by themselves, and the organiser will provide no more than RMB1,000 for each participant to support the sampling cost). The final selection will be based on the physical object, and those who do not provide samples of their works as required will be regarded as abstaining from the competition.

3. The submitted works shall be original works completed by the participants in accordance with the requirements of this competition and have not been publicly published, the works shall not infringe the intellectual property rights and other rights of any third party, and in case of any related legal disputes, all the responsibilities shall be borne by the participants themselves, and have nothing to do with the collection unit. The organiser reserves the right to disqualify any entrant from the competition if he/she is legally liable for plagiarism or infringement of intellectual property rights.

4. Participants must retain the manuscript, the work will not be returned after the submission of the work Once the work is accepted (award), the copyright of the work belongs to the organisers, the organisers have the right to exercise all other rights related to the work, except for the signature, and the award winners must submit the award-winning work source files to the organisers.

Competition Schedule

Call for entries (9 September - 31 October)

September 9 - October 31, participants fill out the entry form (see annex), beyond the designated time or do not provide the relevant form documents as required, will be disqualified.

Preliminary round (early November)

Final round (mid to late November)

Production of works

After the finalists have finished proofing their works, they will be sent by the organiser to the Expert Judging Office for final selection.

Expert Evaluation

Experts are invited to evaluate and select the winning works for the final round of the competition.

Results display (December)

The winning works will be displayed offline and online in the ‘Zhoushan Heart’ brand shop.

Prizes

One first prize, 40,000 RMB;

Two second prizes of 25,000 RMB;

3 third prizes, with a prize of RMB 10,000 yuan;

9 outstanding finalists, with a prize of RMB 3,000.

(Note: The prize fees are all pre-tax amounts, and personal income tax will be withheld and paid by the activity organiser on behalf of the participants).
